Chef Chetna Macwan
Hello!! My name is Chetna and I write about something near and dear to my heart…Food!! But not just any type of food, I write about the foods that represent my heritage, culture, family, and personal loves. There are so many wonderful dishes and styles of food out there, that you can literally have the same dish twice, and it will taste different depending on the person or place that makes it! And you know what? that is a beautiful thing!
I am from a North Indian, Gujarati background, & brought up on my moms amazing foods. Actually – in my opinion, there is nothing better out there than my mom’s cooking. From her hot rotli’s to her curries, dessert and homemade pickles – she is the epitome of amazing home cooking. Because of her influence, I have a passion for cooking, and try to do the best I can to re-create all different type of foods. My goal is to show guests how to make many traditional/fusion Indian dishes in a way that is much easier to prepare for the everyday cook. I am passionate about showing people how to make Indian food with simpler steps, and without sacrificing any flavor. Food, as in many cultures, is an incredible way to bring people together, make new friends and initiate new conversations – all around food.
You can also find me sharing some of my Indian food as chef/host on TV shows, radio, podcasts, magazines, blogs, supper clubs, and other media outlets.
